We are so glad you decided to visit together Mount Elbrus.
As promised, the other two destinations from the last vote remain available also for this vote. Basically, A will be north, B east and C south. And we are coming from the west
Choice A : Astrakhan, Russia
Quick flight over the Caucasus to the (biggest river of Europe)’s delta. Where Volga’s waters flow into the Caspian Sea lies the city of Astrakhan. The name sounds probably familiar to you from this piece of music composed by Anouar Brahem.
Choice B : Caspian Sea, Russia’s coast
The landscape will change dramatically in the remaining 400km from Mount Elbrus to the Caspian Sea. One interesting feature are the dry canyons dug in the tail of the Caucasus Mountains, just before the Caspian Sea takes over. Let’s experience the life in this wild-east: the Chirkey Dam – tallest dam in Russia – is the last stop before the sea.
Choice C : Ushba, Svaneti region, Georgia
That’s it! We are changing continents. Entering Asia trough Georgia. From Mount Elbrus we can spot the twin peaks of Ushba. Let’s fly directly between them, grab a cloudy candy floss and see what’s after the Caucasus mountains.
- A - Astrakhan, Russia (11%, 1 Votes)
- B - Caspian Sea, Russia's coast (67%, 6 Votes)
- C - Ushba, Svaneti region, Georgia (22%, 2 Votes)
Total Voters: 9
The voting ends sometimes on Thursday, 7 March 2013. You can check out the map for the position of the destination of choice and/or subscribe to be notified when we arrive at the destination of choice:
